Rough Turning (Step 1 of 9)

The partially rounded block is screwed to a steel plate which, in this picture, is being attached to a lathe with the help of an electric hoist. This heavy old metal turning lathe is on long-term loan from a friend. Its bed was sawn-off so that it can hold enormous pieces.
